根据生活习惯的不同
回族人中有一群被称之为“穆斯林”的人
他们严格恪守着信仰伊斯兰教的人们的生活习性的人
普通的回族人目前仅保留着伊教节日和主要的伊斯兰生活习惯
（如不吃猪和生擒猛兽的肉）
而极度崇拜伊斯兰教的穆斯林们
平时的起居洗漱都有着严格的规定
尤其洗漱，穆斯林们认为只有流动的水才是干净的
而从古代回族人踏入中国疆土时，流动水并不十分多见
因此就发明了“汤瓶”，也就是上面图片中女子所持金瓶
这也是穆斯林和回族人对生活热爱的一种表现

当然关于生活的细致方面，穆斯林们也有只繁多复杂的规定
仅仅洗漱方面的习俗和规定就有数十种之多
饮食根据节气和伊斯兰历法来算又有封斋和开斋之分
封斋期间，所有信仰伊斯兰教的人们，白天（太阳升起来后到太阳落下去前的这段时间）绝对禁止饮食，据说这是穆罕默德在帮助家乡人度过当时肆虐猖狂的瘟疫所采用的一种很有效的方法，因此至今保留。
封斋也有大封和小封，大封3个月，小封1个月
封斋最后一天即是开斋节，回族人根据阿拉伯语将其称之为“古尔邦节”
开斋节那天，凡是信仰伊斯兰教的家庭无不烹羊宰牛，居家欢庆
而宁夏回族大多数的特色食品也只有在这个时候会出现
馓子，油香，手抓（手抓在宁夏已经很普遍，吴忠的老毛手抓也已经有102年的历史.),
尤其是馓子和油香，这2种食品只有出自回民家庭内的妇人之手才会有其独特的香味，而汉族人所做的，以及平时超市里所见到的，口味不及其十分只一.
至于原因，至今还是个迷.

回民是个爱好和平的民族，这个民族也有很多特有的气质，天生的洁癖，头脑反映灵敏，待人比较随和。但是不要忘了，回族始终是西北大漠上一支不可忽视的力量，一旦触怒了他们，就意味着你的日子将会很不好过.
但是同样因为回族人是在西北的大漠中长大，也带有着天生的豪爽,整个西北，都是一个人情味很浓的地方，尤其是宁夏.（其实西安也蛮错滴^^)

而我的家乡，就是在这片还未被世人所完全理解的土地之上.
