Preface

Nowadays, computer and video games are absolutely impressive in terms of culture, development of cultural and scientific character of individuals and its non-replaceable role as an educational tool and educational assistance is undeniable. In addition, computer and video games are such a unique medium for spending leisure times in all age groups which cannot be substituted with any otherentertainment media.

Therefore, it is absolutely necessary paying special attention to exploration and organizing elites and holding competitions between them to maximum use of their talent in terms of games. Based on the same necessity, institute of computer game championships has been established in July of 2011 for management and holding computer games competitions and supporting activities relating to the cultural and technical aspects of video and computer game industry under supervision of the National Cultural Network of Islamic Republic of Iran.

The main task of Institute of Computer Games is holding a series of game competitions which has been given the name "DigitalCup" at presence of countries which are members of the Economic Cooperation Organization, ECO. Digital Cup has arranged competitions in two games: FIFA2012 &PES2012, and each competitor can play any of them, using either PC or XBOX.

Aims and Intentions

Article one

- Exploring, attracting, and guiding talented persons in terms of computer games.

Article two

- Providing areas for development of players and make them capable of attending in global arenas of computer games.

Article three

- Providing a safe and appealing environment for teenagers and youth to spend their free times.

Article four

- Reinforcing group work and responsibility by using team-work and competitive games.

Article five

- Attracting talented people in terms of constructing and developing computer games and creation of job opportunities for them by means of producing computer games.

IDC:

Digital Cup's first career held in Esfahan, Iran in 2011. After holding provincial and national championships, most public and private organizations intended to support the tournament. In the late of 2011, these competitions, for the first time, became registered as an international tournament which caused registration of many players and several teams from different countries.

The Process of the International Digital Cup competitions

Primary stage:

This stage will be held from July 7th to 10th in 2012 at presence of representatives of Digital Cup in different countries (locations of primary stage in different countries will be announced before the beginning of competitions). Characteristics of participants who have registered in Digital Cup web site will be sent by the Digital Cup secretariat to the representatives who are obliged to entertain participants according to the list they will receive from the secretariat. Any advertisement by representatives must be in accordance to instructions which will be sent by the Director of Digital Cup. It is necessary to say that 50 per cent of the sum of money which is received for registration in each city should be paid to the representative of the same city.

Semi-final stage (National):

This stage will be held from July 13th to 16th in 2012 at a predetermined place with top gamers of primary stage each city or country. At the end of this stage superior gamers will be selectedfor The Digital Cup Final Match (The Great International Final).

Final Stage (The Great International Final):

After primary and semi – final stages, the final stage called The Great International Final will be carried out from July 17th to 21th in Tehran, capital city of Islamic republic of Iranin the form that comes below:

A)The number of teams attending in the final stage from each country in every game is 8 teams (8players)who have the first and the second place of every game at previous stage.

The numbers of participating teams (players) from Iran in each game is 12 teams (12 players) who have the first and the second place of each game at previous stage.

Notes on Registration:

A)

Iranian citizens and all others who live in Iran, should reisetr through www.jamdigital.ir.

B)

People who live in countries who are members of ECO, should register through cultural institute of ECO in their countries.

C)

People who live in other countries and can attend in Iran at the time of tournament, should register in www.jamdigital.ir. But they will be categorized in the foreigners who reside in Iran.
